Go West Young Man...

Zach wears many hats, all of them outdoors, that is the major inspiration for his work. As an avid outdoor sportman, professional guide and bush pilot, Zach bring his personal experience with the animals he loves to his paintings.  'It is the personality of the animal, not just horns, claws, or fins that make the animals of the West magnificent, that is what I try to paint'.

Born in New York State, Zach knew at an early age he would be heading west, finally standing on the Bering Sea Coast of Alaska one day while chasing Brown Bears he knew he had reached his destination. 'It is around these marvelous beasts that one can see the real America, wild and free'.

Now Zach splits his time between bush flying in Alaska and Hay Farming in Montana with his wife Kerry on their ranch at the base of the Tobacco Root Mountains. It is from the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific Northwest that Zach draws his inspiration. 'The Animals of the mountains, plaines and rivers are the true works of art, I can only hope to show my audience their powerful portrait and intimate personality'.

'I hope you enjoy my work and it inspires you to go West!' -- Zach
